Madeline Widnick, Artistic Director of the Gettysburg Children’s Choir, holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Susquehanna University. A soprano, she studied voice under Dr. Amanda Russo-Stante and sang in the University Choir and Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Amy Voorhees. Alongside her vocal studies, Madeline expanded her versatility as a collaborative pianist, violist, and conductor, while also gaining international performance experience in Japan through a musical collaboration with Niigata University.
With experience across a wide range of age groups, Madeline has taught early childhood music classes and served on staff for summer vocal institutes along the East Coast. For the past few years, she has led the children's choir and assisted with the adult choir at the Shenandoah Valley Vocal Institute in Waynesboro, VA. She is joining Carlisle Area High School as a choir director and music teacher. Madeline currently lives in the Harrisburg area. In her free time, she enjoys attending musicals, playing board games, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs. She is thrilled to direct the Gettysburg Children’s Choir, empowering young singers to achieve artistic excellence, build confidence, and find joy through music. |
